I just made plans for a trip in November, which brought me face to face with the harsh reality that summer is coming to a close. I cannot believe it. This has by far been the quickest summer of my life (does that mean I'm getting older?), and I'm determined to savor every last minute of this ever fleeting season. That means indulging in my favorite end-of-summer sweet, s'mores.
There's nothing more picturesque than friends around a campfire, marshmallow-tipped prongs in hand, chunks of chocolate and graham crackers waiting to be smushed together. S'mores are the perfect transitional treat to take you from those final summer weeks into the first month or two of fall. And while I'm a classics girl, I have to say I also love the idea of getting creative with these yummy bites as the fall air starts to cool. Fruity and light variations for the rest of August, spiced and hearty concoctions in September/October. Here are a few of my favorite flavors:
Ice Cream Sandwich S'mores
Blackberry White Chocolate S'mores
Cinnamon Peach S'mores
Salted Caramel S'mores (on a cookie)
