NYC At Your Finger Tips . . .

In a time when we can literally hold our entire lives in our finger tips,
I thought it might be helpful to share my top ten New York City apps.

This is probably my favorite NYC app. It has it all, from street eats to traffic cameras. It's like getting 60 apps all wrapped into one. Not to undermine the rest of my list, but you could definitely get by with this app and this app only.

2. Downtown Alliance
This useful app is just what you need if you're looking to enjoy the downtown scene. With over 13 event categories, you can always find something exciting to do in lower Manhattan.

         3. Central Park NYC
This is a wonderful app for getting around Central Park, listing every entrance, landmark, activity and more. If you get lost, which I have on more than one occasion, this app can find you and show you exactly where you are.

4. HopStop New York
A number one source for public transit, walking, taxi, and biking directions throughout the city. No matter where you are, HopStop can help you find the fastest route to your destination.

                        5. TimeOut New York
This app is like having TimeOut magazine at your beck and call. With up-to-date listings of events throughout the city, this app can help you make the most of your days, nights, or hours in NYC.

                 6. Urban Daddy New York
A fun nightlife app, UDNY will help you find the right place to grab dinner, or drinks, or a dance with your friends. Tell the app the day, time, neighborhood, and people involved, and it will make a suggestion for how to spend your night.

7. NY ArtBeat
This is my ultimate source for New York's art calendar.
I hardly ever spend money on apps, but this one is worth the $1.99. It lists all openings, closings, and permanents around the city.

8. NYTimes The Scoop NYC
Another great go-to, this app lists the top restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. from the staff of The New York Times. My favorite category - Only in New York - lists top NY experiences, from classic sights to offbeat outings.

9. New York Post
With this app you won't have to stop on your way to work to pick up the Post. You can get all the juicy Page Six gossip and other local and breaking news directly on your iPhone/Pad.

        10. ILoveNYTheatre
This app is the official headquarters of the Broadway League for all things theatre related. It lists up-to-date price points and schedules as wells as dining suggestions near the theatre district.

Whether you're a New York City resident or a tourist passing through,
I hope these apps add an extra dose of fun to your city experience.
