Winter's Eve . . .

Last night Columbus Circle did not let the warm weather get in the way of celebrating the 12th Annual Winter's Eve festival and Lincoln Square tree lighting. It was quite the evening of festivities. There were tasting stations lining the sidewalks and entertainers at every street corner. An ice sculptor making a nutcracker and a children's choir singing carols. A performer on stilts and a mariachi band in Santa hats. Arts and crafts tables for the kids, in-store giveaways for the adults. My highlight was visiting William Sonoma to find Daniel Boulud signing copies of his book, Daniel Boulud Cocktails. What a treat that was.

Despite the tropical temperatures, the entire neighborhood was such a sight of winter merriment. I'm officially ready for the Christmas season. Let the holiday parties, music, and shopping begin!
