Go Runners . . .

Last night the Upper West Side was painted with orange and blue inspiration. Yesterday 4700 people ran the 26.2 mile New York City Marathon. With the final portion of the race in my neighborhood, I went to check it out toward the end of the day. It's such an incredible New York moment to see the runners crossing the finish line. Runners of all shapes and sizes, ages and strengths, histories and backgrounds. No matter who they are or why they're running, the smiles that spread across each person's face at the finish line are one and the same. I just loved watching the runners walking home, wrapped in a foil blanket of accomplishment.

Congratulations to all those who completed the New York City Marathon 2011
